Fab find......

Just a quick post about something I found and love so I thought I'd share.
I needed a new lipbalm to stick in my bag about two weeks ago and was shopping in wilkinsons, but couldn't find the chapstick I usually use. I came across a pack of three wilkinsons own brand for 99p so thought I'd give them a try. I'm actually amazed at how great they are! They keep my lips so soft, add a nice little sheen and smell amazing! I definitely recommend giving them a try.

They come in strawberry, watermelon and grape. Pack of 3 for 99p available from wilkinson stores.

REVIEW: MUA eyeshadows

I love these eyeshadows! They're so pigmented, some more than others, they blend really well, come in a variety of colours, are available in matt and pearl and the best thing, they cost £1.00 each! Each eyeshadow contains 2g of product.

Shade 2: White, Pearl - A little sheer, nice colour for highlighting tearduct
Shade 1: Champagne, pearl - Great colour for a shimmery highlight
Shade 17: Beige, Matt - Not very pigmented, not great colour payoff, but good for a blending colour
Shade 29: Gold, Pearl - A little powdery, very pretty colour
Shade 11: Brown, Pearl - Very pigmented, warm toned brown with bronze undertone
Shade 19: Brown, Matt - Great for adding depth to the outer V on a smokey eye, and filling eyebrows
Shade 20: Black, Matt - Extremely pigmented, great to use as eyeliner

Shade 3: Silver, Pearl - Very pigmented, pretty true silver
Shade 12: Brown/Khaki, Pearl - Two toned colour, warm toned shadow
Shade 4: Lilac/pink, Pearl - Quite sheer but buildable
Shade 25: Burgundy, Pearl - Slightly powdery
Shade 9: Purple, Pearl - Blue toned, very sheer but buildable
Shade 8: Turquoise, Pearl - Gorgeous colour, more of a matt than a pearl
Shade 13: Deep purple, Pearl - Quite powdery, not great colour pay off
Shade 10: Navy blue, Pearl - Very powdery, not very pigmented

MUA is available from Superdrug, the eyeshadows cost £1.00 and contain 2g of product. They don't come with names only shade numbers.

REVIEW: Soap and Glory Lid stuff

I love these, especially 'whats nude' I always used to wear more of a neutral eye, then started to wear purples and greens. I think I've now been persuaded to go back to neutrals.

These eyeshadows have great pigmentation, are easy to blend and stay on all day. The palette they come in is great for travelling, small, sturdy and compact, I love that the front is see through too. I also think it's a great idea to have shimmer and matt shadows rather than just one or the other. The one thing I would say is, in the 'off the wall flower' palette, the 'sugar violet' (lilac colour) and 'wild blue' (aqua colour) are quite sheer so need a little work to get a good amount of colour. I've been wearing the 'whats nude' palette everyday for the past two weeks, absolutely recommend!

Here are some swatches:
'what's nude'

'Off the wall flower'

There are three different palettes available: Whats nude, Off the wall flower and Smokey dokey which is a smokey palette with greys and and a sparkley black.

These are £10.00 each and are available from Boots and http://www.soapandglory.com/

REVIEW :MUA liquid eyeliner - Black

I admit it, I'm an eyeliner junkie. If I was on a dessert island and could only have three luxuries, eyeliner would be one. When MUA brought out their cosmetics range in superdrug, I got a little over excited. Everything was priced at £1.00, who doesn't love a bargain? However, I admit I was a little weary because for that price, how good could it be? The answer: GREAT! I picked up the liquid eyeliner, thinking if its not very good I haven't broke the bank. I tried it and fell in love.

The applicator is felt tip shaped and made from a very soft plastic, the consistency is great, it's so easy to apply, and the great thing is, it lasts all day with no smudging. I wear it everyday and will continue repurchasing it over and over. I absolutely recommend this!
It comes in two colours: Black and Brown.
£1.00 available to buy at superdrug.

REVIEW :It's about prime

Eye primer is so important if you want your eyeshadow to stay put all day. I was in boots the other day and noticed the soap and glory primer 'it's about prime', so I thought I'd give it a whirl.

I really enjoy using this product, it's application is smooth, helps my eyeshadow colour pop and above all it does what it says 'Base layer for crease-free, no smudge, smooth and uniform eye colour'. It comes in two colours 'Bright light' and 'smokey'. 'Bright light' can be used for everyday looks and colour eyeshadow, and 'smokey' is aimed at smokey eye looks.

Above is a swatch of 'Bright lights' I'll definitely be purchasing 'smokey' too.
This primer is available at Boots and http://www.soapandglory.com/ for £8.00

REVIEW :Rimmel Scandal eyes mascara...

I can't make my mind up about this mascara, one day I like it and the next I don't. The wand (I thought I'd love) which is one of the main selling points, isn't that great. It's too chunky, which makes it difficult getting into the inner corners and you have to be extra careful when applying to avoid getting mascara on your eyelid.

This mascara is supposed to shape, plump and exagerate lashes. I didn't find this to be the case at all. It's also meant to seperate and prevent clumping. Whislt I did notice fewer clumps, I didn't see any seperation of my lashes.
I wouldn't repurchase this mascara again, sorry Rimmel.

Wilkinsons and boots (online) currently have this on sale for £4.99 usual price is £6.99

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.....

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. The quote I live by. It's amazing how things turn out. You spend your school years thinking of what life will be like as you grow older, then you get that little bit older and realise life's nothing like you expected. Things aren't mapped out and handed to you on a plate, you have to make them happen. Which brings me to where I am today. I am currently in the middle of starting my own business as a freelance make-up artist. Never in a million years did I think this is where I'd end up, up until last year I had no clue what I wanted to do with my life, and now everything's falling into place. Which now brings me to the reason for writing a blog. I love trying out new make up, especially things for my kit. So I figured why not share? All new things I try, I'll review and blog about them. Along with other random things I come across in life that I feel the need to share.

Enjoy
